Flowers

If we were, a flower.
Would we bloom early?
Or, would we take our time.
Letting spring pass us,
Waiting for a better,
Season.
Wait for a reason,
Never acting on our own.
Waiting, to die.
Never nourishing our love,
Helping it grow,
Never extending roots.
Flowers grow, to die.
I hope we are not a flower,
They never know when to bloom.
I’d rather choose with you
To be a tree.
To live a life of depth,
Not fleeting beauty.
Love deserves action,
Not fear.
Intentionality,
Not regret.
Communication,
Not. Tears.
Love deserves our time.
And trees still bloom,
Leaves still shine.
Flowers fading,
Satisfy the senses,
Leave the heart empty.
Love is more than a flower.
